The Halls of God Clan
The stench of sweat and grime hits you like a charging remorhaz as you
enter the room. Not surprising, given how active your clan has been lately.
It seems like they have single handedly rid Krynn of the last of the
dragons and pulled down all the strongholds of the greatest lords and
leaders. Yet somehow more pop up each day and your Clan fights on to bring
order and domination to the world. The bright fireplace warms the room and
provides the light for you to see your way to the bar and check in desk.
Several waiters and waitresses bustle too and fro, bringing the much needed
ale and sustenance to the worn out heroes. A bell hop stands by the check
in desk, ready to stow your gear. The concierge stands by, ready to collect
your Clan contribution before you head upstairs to your room and rest.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
being able to bend the rules is really one of the only perks to a thankless job.
Joe: I challenge you to a game of horseshoes. A game of horseshoes!
Then you have the cheating by players...which is just as bad.
Basically, in my position you just end up with a game that in order to play this game competitively you have to cheat. Which makes the game unplayable in my view.
That being said, every 6 months or so I start trying to play again...but after the first few thrills of early playing, I start realizing I am going to have to deal with the people in the game and except for a few...that wearies me to the point of not playing.
Anyhow, you cheating bastards knock it the fuck off. Pisses me off you killed my love of the game as a whole.
1) Yet another example of wild\imms cheating
2) Hoss claiming he abyssed Remmington when Remmington is telling to eddie (abyss is no tell)
3) The fact that there has never been any proof that Rise has ever cheated in this game, yet somehow they are always being accused and deleted. Meanwhile the logs of Wilds and Hoss cheating seem to keep on coming, yet wild is never punished, and all Hoss had to do was change his name from Dougan to Hoss. Does this log deserve another name change I wonder??
@Reed - This is not be brown nosing just laughing at Jack.
And ilya's post proves my point. There's never been proof that Rise has ever cheated. Just idiot whiners that don't want to admit we are just plain better in this game so they make up accusations of "Rise cheating", or "Rise is bad for mud", or "Rise is chasing away players". Just drivel that has no basis in reality. Rise gets deleted for mass dting, or being semi-afk. Wilds get caught using 10d10 & 50d50 weapons, getting transferred and unflagged during pk, having random items flagged no_bash, etc., and yet somehow the imms in this game try to proclaim us as the "bad guys" and "cheaters".. lol its sad really.
1. Wilds are the only ones who are allowed to cheat, anyone that cheats will be deleted.
2. If you kill a member of Wild, you will be deleted
3. If you want to be like Wild, become an imm, and bend over for hoss and aristox. Example: Ilya
and the staff have better shit to do as far as Arctic is concerned than to play 12 hours a day so they can satisfy your wishes. You people constantly force fights onto people who really have no desire to fight... then bitch when you get your desires curbed. Wake up.
Oh and I dont play 12 hours a day, my character has less then a day playing time.
@Jack - I'm still laughing!
It is true that RISE has brought punishments on themselves by past play; however, this is a straw man argument. This log wasn't about RISE, or whether or not RISE has cheated in the past (clearly they have) or if they are cheating in the present. I don't currently play, but from what everyone has said, it sounds like everyone cheats this wipe. It was about a flagged HOWC character hiding in a clearly illegal spot, then getting saved 1 round before death by Hoss (who admits it, but states it was a coincidence). If a RISE had done this, at the very least, the character would have been deleted, with the immortal likely deleted as well. We all know Remington is going to get away with a slap on the wrist, if that... the same as the Wild char who got caught with the nobash long sword... or the same as the Wild char who got caught with 10d10 prime to do Jaegar fight more easily... the same as the immortal whose mortal character died, but their diamonds magically got snatched away by Someone... Next time, Remington buddy, make yourself nobash too, so that it is more believable when you say you faded out (and you actually held to that story, haha!).
The staff (Hoss + WildImms) has shown no intention on being fair. They have cheated in the past (love the Dougan reference!), they cheat in the present, and there is nothing to prevent them from continuing to cheat in the future. They do put in a lot of work in the game, which no one denies. I do not think that working on the game justifies blatant interference in mortal affairs on this scale. Their own rules state that they aren't supposed to interfere with mortal affairs. There is obvious bias and dislike to one section of the playerbase (RISE gets deleted for dting themselves), where other groups doing the exact same things or worse (like this log) get minimal/no punishment. They focus on the supposed evil of RISE to justify their own bad behavior. RISE/Norm botted the shit out of last wipe; RISE continues to PK because they think the game is boring otherwise. That can't be your excuse for all the other cheating in the game. Typical whiner says, "I know I got caught cheating, but RISE pkilled some lowbie suspect last month, how awful are they!" Ridiculous.
I agree with Leeroy; I'm glad I don't play under this mess. I do like to read it for the drama, it's like a text-based soap.

patrick This thread has been hijacked more times than the Maersk Alabama. Did anyone else see the point mavlad was making? The imms position and defense to all accusations is "show proof or shut the fuck up". Haha show proof how? They fucking cheat constantly. If that was all then fine, who the fuck cares. The burn is that they enforce the most niggling rules against MH, under the guise of the sanctity of the rules, while flaunting them constantly. Show proof? Are you fucking serious? How exactly and what exactly kind of proof are they demanding so matter of factly? Like its some gross incompetence of people not to have forensic evidence of high level imm cheating. There are plenty of very talented, very non clan affiliated people who play or played this game who would I am sure jump at the opportunity to build/admin this game, they act like they are poor put apon slaves to our happiness. Fuck those faggots. This game would BE a lot better if they all quit, because frankly, those fucking people(kam, chemosh, others ) carry grudges from their mortal days, and it influences their decisions. Most of you just flame because you hate MH, frankly, because they have pwned you all for years... So you just go along with stuff because you like seeing MHs suffer, as you cannot inflict it yourselfs. So talk your brave words to puff up ya chests and distract yourself from fact basically 3-4 players and their well trained troops basically own all of your souls, in the context of this text based game at least.

August 27th, 2001
Quite an interesting last few days we have had here in our little
text-based home. If you know the story, good, if not have someone else
explain it. Here is the short version: there was a rash of cheating spread
across the face of the land which came to a point with an incident
yesterday. The result is as follows:
-Dougan has been retired and removed himself from the immortal world. All
of his mortal chars have been removed as well.
[return for more, q to stop]<255><249>-The corpse full of gear that mysteriously disappeared had decayed, but the
gear has been returned to the people that won it in a player v player
fight.
-Quite a few immortals have had their ears boxxed for incidents that came
after this debacle. More to come.
....we can only assume this flashback to the past only meant more cheating to come. And no I'm not in Rise.
The fact that Hoss admits that he cannot deal with RISE fairly means that he shouldn't be the one making judgments when RISE is involved. HOWC cheats (sitting in a room not meant for mortals to wear off flags), and Hoss doesn't delete Remington because he dislikes RISE? Intentional or not, I would think Hoss could see where RISE wouldn't trust that he has their best interest at heart, considering he has abyssed/deleted RISE in the past for mass-dting and for pking suspect lowbies, neither of which are against the rules.
The whole Hoss/Reed discussion wasn't posted, but Hoss continues to make it clear that he disfavors one segment of the MUD population, which is exactly what his job is supposed to not do. It is right in "help immortal policy" that players do not like an unfair MUD. Hopefully this turns around someday... When Hoss deleted RISE initially this wipe, I can count at least 4 players that did not come back... but maybe that was the hope of the staff.
And haven't Brytoned for a while now. I'm married and stuff!
