The Torture Chamber
    Situated far from the living and sleeping quarters of the priesthood is
the temple's torture chamber. A long torturer's table, assembled from the
pale bones of an unfortunate dolphin, is securely fastened to the ground
in the center of the foreboding chamber. The large table dominates the room,
providing new victims with a terrifying view of the fate that is about to
befall them. Every other piece of furniture and equipment near the table is
meant to inspire fear and helplessness in the victim as well. A small desk
laden with strange potions and sadistic implements stands just out of arms
reach of the torturer's table, while a uninviting cage smeared with blood
hides in the shadowy corner. A narrow shelf set into the western wall holds
crude glass jars filled with the torturer's gruesome trophies. A miasma of
fresh blood hangs thick in the water. Salvation lies through a coral tunnel
that leads back off to the east.
