A Quiet Path Through the Swamp
A path opens up here in the swamp, twisting around a large, gnarled
tree. The path is strangely clear of any water logged holes or felled
branches. Likewise, the air is void of all sound, and it appears that even
the mosquitos won't fly here. As if reverent to this dark, quiet path, the
swamp will grow to its edges but stop suddenly.

A path opens up here in the swamp. Though quite narrow, it is amazingly
clear of water or any other sort of obstruction, as if superior to the

surface, further adding to your growing discomfort.

At the Edge of a Small Valley
Skirting the edge of a dry, dusty valley, the road winds its way down

howling gusts of wind offer a mere prelude to the dry Plains of Dust which
expand to the northwest. As you gaze over the contents of the valley, you
notice a small town nestled deep in the valley. Wisps of black smoke drift
lazily into the air, and signs of life become more apparant as there are
many visible footprints, not yet covered by dust.

At the Edge of the Plains
Stretching westward, as far as the eye can see, the great, billowing
dust clouds and frigid, bitter winds of the Plains of Dust await your
travel. The road bends south here, starting to descend into what looks like
a dry valley. It looks almost like a canyon, as it is very dry and you can
see no plants growing. Perhaps it was a pre-cataclysm river, though
whatever ancient waters have flowed there have since dried up. The winds
from the glacier south of here die down somewhat, though a steady,
relentless northern breeze drifting from the Plains of Dust can still
readily be felt.

comfort from the relentless winds, and the only sign of life you can see

caravans usually rest in some of the smaller villages that have been built
up around the Torath river east of here before making the long trek across
the plains.

parts of Krynn. You can barely make out Tarsis, lying nestled in the heart

This, the road to Tarsis, strides boldly through the Plains of Dust,
plunging eastward through the plains and west towards the exotic city of
Tarsis. Glacial winds gust in from the south, hampering your journey. The
plains respond to these forceful winds, born in the heart of Icewall, with
incredible dust storms that constantly threaten to encroach upon Tarsis and
the roads leading to her. Very few plants have the will or tenacity to try

  2. deraj · 10 Jul 2012
Thanks! was fun, but all i had to lose was some trash CL gear. Nyx on the other hand...alot more
  3. lurane · 10 Jul 2012
looks like aimee gets all her cl back!
  4. jorake · 10 Jul 2012
I ddont think losing cl was worse than pete losing his eq. On another note. Not sure why dema died. He groups with everyone. Poor form rise poor form.
  5. brandon · 10 Jul 2012
yea demaleon was neutrel, he quit VA to avoid war
  6. kreachor · 10 Jul 2012
Justin learned a lesson from his last death to BSP! What happened to Kir? He was fighting then log just ended.
  7. al · 10 Jul 2012
yeah poor form for targeting a neutral. even blood thirsty oxen don't do that. i feel bad for him, it takes a long time to get equiped up by yourself.

but i can bet that he'll want to bash rise now to gain vengeance!
  8. Kadaj · 10 Jul 2012
Nyx tells your group 'stand tall jared!'

This is a pk mud. Not judge mathis mud. Props to Rise for jacking him.
  12. bryton · 10 Jul 2012
What happened to the rules of grouping a warring clan will get you highlighted and pked blah blah blah. Hypocrisy + whining= oxen
  13. al · 10 Jul 2012
judge judy would kill judge mathis in the court of law.
  14. al · 10 Jul 2012
there's nothing wrong with killing him, except you're being a dick! you have a whole posse to back you up, and he has no one and just groups with anyone that has a spot. probably including RISE!
  15. al · 10 Jul 2012
and we kill people to kill people. it's not about the gear when it comes to hunting a neutral. it's about paying the iron price!

it comes down to your sense of morality bryton. to be, or not to be (an asshole), that is the question.
  16. ilya · 10 Jul 2012
Think that question has already been answered Al.
  17. bryton · 10 Jul 2012
Oh al you are saying that I'm a jerk to you? I might be a jerk to ilya, steveo, feroz, Eric, but who can blame me?
  18. Mwarg · 10 Jul 2012
    al is drunk, as usual?
  19. Mwarg · 10 Jul 2012
ya, and i think, nyx meant to gtell "stand, tall jared", just forgot a comma.
  20. al · 10 Jul 2012
that's not at all what i'm saying! i'm glad you participate in pk... and i'm not a jerk to anyone unless i get jerked around first. i don't think you're being a jerk to me at all.

in this case i'm saying your comment is a little biased because the act of pking dem and taking his gear is a completely different situation than say the act of killing me. if i die in pk, that's what happens... and i don't blame anyone else but myself and i don't get sad about it.

in regard to the justification of killing a neutral for gear? this happens. but when it comes to pking people that just want to zone, that's where i draw the line. at one point i would have randomed anyone for the gear they had. but i've moved on from that, because i know that 90 percent of the gaming population plays for the purpose of zoning. let's call it moral growth.

  21. al · 10 Jul 2012
Why would you think I would be drunk by making these comments Mwarg? Contrary to popular belief as dictated by my clan mates assertions, I was not drunk when I died in pk the other day. I would never blame drinking on deaths; I'm not that lame.
  22. kreachor · 10 Jul 2012
Bryton, reason you were highlighted for zoning with BSP is because you zoned with them on more than a regular basis. You were consistently in BSP groups, just not tagged BSP. Demaleon zoned with us one time.

It is not about getting spotted one random time with an enemy group, it is the frequency that it happens.

When I grouped bsp they where the only group during euro time doing big ranks which would get me to legend faster... But whatever I guess this just goes to show anyone in oxen group will be highlighted. Unless someone in rise disagrees

fair is fair. bring on the bloodshed!
  30. reed23 · 10 Jul 2012
@Al - Fredi poofed to oxen groups 2x within the last week and saw demaleon in the group, and therefore, we tagged it Evil. I had never looked at Demaleon, nor had anyone in the group, to see if he had decent gear or not. All this bullshit about how we are killing neutrals to get gear has no merit. We had never looked at Demaleon. He died because he grouped with Oxen on multiple occasions. It was just an added bonus to see that he had a decent set of equipment when I typed examine corpse. Same goes for the Cyren/Locki kills when we ganked them. No one knew what gear they had, they just paid the price for grouping with the warring clan. So don't accuse us of killing these people because they are "geared," because we had no idea what type of eq they were wearing until their corpse was on the ground.
  31. al · 10 Jul 2012
like i said, fair is fair. we are basically the only clan that zones neutrals. because we are the good guys!

    my neutral pov:

neutrals should not be grouped. acting like you group neutrals is acknowledging you exploit fodder for slave labor. True neutrals should sit in happy tarsis treehouse and try to assemble the 1 legged dildo set of pirate buttplungery.

If a neutral chooses to group with taggeds/clans, they should be willing to forfeit their own life.

If a neutral group is completely made up of untaggeds, then they're evil.

Ergo, stay safe in treehouse clan clan. and help me max out thorn daggers.
  44. al · 10 Jul 2012

  57. bryton · 10 Jul 2012
And that's the attitude that makes this game lame.
  58. hoplo · 10 Jul 2012
I have to applaud Oxen for coming to play. For all the Trolling and general crap talk, they at least play the game as I recall the game being played long ago when I first started.

I certainly don't blame characters like Nyx for recalling if they are stupidly stacked. But, as Bumer has proven, all that super equipment generally proves to be devastating, so most of the time the risk is rather minimal.

As for reed and whoever else you deem trashy. Almost without fail whatever reed wins he will loose, it is his nature of play. To call him trashy is general ignorance, he simply likes to run around fighting, win or loose - and the rest of Rise lets him do whatever with what he wins.
  59. reed23 · 10 Jul 2012
Lolz at all you idiots who think I come naked to fights. Pure hypocrisy, pure ignorance, and lots of recalling with your geared characters!
  60. Cyren · 10 Jul 2012
@reed23 "Same goes for the Cyren/Locki kills when we ganked them. No one knew what gear they had, they just paid the price for grouping with the warring clan."

Slightly different. It was not Locki or I that grouped Oxen. We were just the first Myth tags on after you decided to kill Myth.
  61. kreachor · 11 Jul 2012
Ya, Slurp & Sully are stacked every time they battle...
  62. reed23 · 11 Jul 2012
5 dams on a basher is stacked in my book, maybe you are just above everyone else Kreachor!

And Cyren, Myth was grouping with Oxen, you and Locki were on, and yes, you were the first available targets after we came to know Myth grouped Oxen.
  63. bryton · 11 Jul 2012
Wtf no new logs!! Sounds like oxen must of ran and rented.
  64. al · 11 Jul 2012
    Sick nasty burn Bryton, SICK!
  65. kreachor · 11 Jul 2012
I don't think run and renting is correct. More that it is summer and more people are busy with other things. Let's just be honest about this situation. Both parties say that the other won't fight, but both have tried to. One always rents for one reason or another; wife, kids, people renting to sleep or whatnot. Maybe sometime the stars will align!
  66. kreachor · 11 Jul 2012
Also Reed, if Slurp ever has had that much gear, it is never when he is in his corpse mode with Sully, he always has trash.
  67. kir · 11 Jul 2012
"we have great pr and will continue to uphold the values of the right and true. the gloves are off... we must protect the weak and innocent!"
@Al.. this post really made me chuckle. After the demaleon death, Oxen had balanar, bumer, and sudo in game, and who knows how many others around, while the 4 who killed demaleon were on and flagged and in no way hiding. Did they come to avenge their "ally"? nope, they wouldn't risk their shinies for the chance at pk \revenge\regear an "ally" who died because oxen used them as fodder to repop their plethra of gear, lulz.
  68. ilya · 11 Jul 2012
Kir-Daniel has quit and was on to chat only. As far as me and Sudo, we did try to organize something however I will not go in with me and a mage against 2 legendary bashers, a legendary healer, another healer, and a bunch of corpses...Sorry to dissapoint.
  69. kir · 11 Jul 2012
Daniel in his quitted form logs on mud and posts on sufs more then 90% of the active playerbase.
So you were scared to go 4v4 with 2 bashers, 1 being a legend humas with 20 dam, and a 28 dam legend scout, and a (possibly?) legend mage against 4 chars with much worse eq? I mean to each his own but we would never play like that
  70. al · 11 Jul 2012
For the most part I was being facetious with my comment about being just and good. We pk more than any other clan out there and sometimes kill the wrong targets, but at the end of the day, there doesn’t even need to be justification for who or why anyone is pked. I personally don’t feel good targeting a noob – a lot of the time the gear that I drop in the dump has taken that player weeks if not months to acquire, and a pk death puts them back at square one. That’s why we try not to target the innocent and people who are less inclined to participape in pk out of courtesy; nobody likes a jerk. I would argue though that Oxen is liked by more people than it is hated. We are on good terms with basically every clan with the exception of BSP, RISE, and RGB (only one of which is actively playing) and we’ve given out gear and spells to neutrals rather than stuff our coffers at every opportunity. To help the less fortunate/experienced should be a virtue, and at the end of the day if someone ask for a favor, we are likely to grant it. Because that’s what we like to do!

Of course enemy clans are an exception – and often times that’s when trash talking spews from peoples’ mouths like lava from an active volcano. But that’s Arctic for you!
  71. ilya · 11 Jul 2012

"Also Reed, if Slurp ever has had that much gear, it is never when he is in his corpse mode with Sully, he always has trash."

Actually he has had this much gear off and on, depending on current pk trends. Ask wild when they killed sully/slurp/dworkin in what was a rather lop-sided fight that we initiated. Slurp lost similar equipment to what he posted and sully lost full cleric set (4+heals and other crap).

Fact is these on these forums everyone turns into a giant troll. With a few possible exceptions, no one in Rise particularly hates anyone. Just makes the game more fun to beat on someone.
  78. Gramm · 11 Jul 2012
oxen needs no fodder. if someone like demaleon groups them they are more likely to sponge some of the wealth away from them. if anything oxen grouping weaker allies, makes oxen weaker.

    Who is Gramm!?!

Mud is supposed to be fun, and everyone plays differently. Kir, even if Selleck and Bumer were on, why would they want to fight that group? It comes down to risk vs reward. They could fight the trash naked legend posse + corpses for Demaleon's gear 2vs 4 + corpses, but that does not seem smart.
