to repel invaders.

point. It is an ideal location to establish a defensive position from which
to repel invaders.

Props to Rank for absolutely owning us in that ambush.

The background to the fight that feroz doesn't explain is that he poofed to the group and tented while we were doing spire. We killed him of course but gave the equipment back. From what I've heard he didn't actually mention to his clan that he attacked us first, just said that he poofed us and we killed him for no reason.

Rank can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Patrick, I expect little else from you than lame forum trolling... the sad part is that you sucked as a player (and, I can only assume, as a person).

Being part of an elite clan (and there is no doubt that BSP, MAEL, and MH were elite clans) does not make you elite - something you and Bryton represent to the fullest. Being fed elite gear and dragged around through tough zones does not make you good, but you guys always talk as if you're something special.

Too bad no one seems to be buying what you're selling, with the exception of John - of course, I think he's just being nice to the special needs kids.

I personaly dont play for more then 3 minutes a day. And yeah MH still has an IRC where we chat and shoot the perverbial shit. And yeah there isnt a MH unknown group roaming around to the best of my knowledge lol. You guys are silly :)

the idea that anyone can 'win' arctic is a fallacy. we can consider the outcome of battles, eq, game knowledge, trash talk... it's all a big illusion that shrouds the fact that we burn hours of time on a computer game that never ends. if making claims of grandeur in forums makes you happy, more power to you!

As much as I want to troll this thread, Its just so relieving to see some pk on this mud, even if it is an ambush. I am surprised Terk doesn't just start sitebanning people for pk in his attempts to further ruin the mud. When are phred and kam gonna grow balls and siteban him and delete all his wretched changes so maybe people will come back in play. How pathetic such a great game has an average of 10 players on at any given time. I hope it wipes someday and all of you wonderful people return to the game and everybody can enjoy a pk game where cunning and balls used to reign surpreme, not months of mindless rank spamming and eq pop decay cycles. BLAH

Drake if you are refering to me, i am not in MH. Also i find it amusing some guy posting on a mud forum is trying to tell me to grow a pair of balls. But since you're going to make uninformed assumptions about me, I will do the same to you. You are probably some fat loser virgin who never played arctic at its height of popularity when it was actually fun. You may even have a significant other, and you always wonder why her breath smells so odd and have yet to figure out its because she's used as a cumdumpster for the local crack addicts meth heads (who she respects more then you). You probably follow around some pve all-star and spam the same zones all the time and call yourselves good players cause you can breeze through ancient on a 7man. You may have been in a pvp battle before, and probably even won one before, but that is no doubt eclipsed by the bazillion times you have gotten your ass handed to you. If you were a cripple or in a wheelchair you might have an excuse for your pathetic existance, but i doubt you are so really the question is, why haven't you killed yourself yet? And thank you for allowing me the opportunity to troll once again.

The game has not evolved and most immortals are not impartial. Almost everyone on the game multi's and char shares. On more than one occasion this wipe has a clan ambushed me, and then i talk to that character the next day to find out that his friend had been using his char the previous day.
The new pk rules are so lame, and the ranking system totally blows. Never thought Atin and Rogeneye would be the most killed mobs in the game.
No one wants to come out and pk, inn sit until you have an 8 man to fight me and jim. Not to mention that the chances of loading paralyze are just slightly over the odds of winning the powerball.

There was an apparent administrative pressure over the past several wipes to reduce the pk intensity, probably on the pretext of preserving the newbies. If so, that plan has failed.

the problem is imms getting involved in things they shouldn't, because of friendship bias to players. bots are relatively common now because of the lower player base. bots are so prevelant that a lot of aggressive mud actions are countered by a friendly immortal punishing the aggressors bots, crippling their zoning and ending their attack.

the game has changed, and so should the rules.
the current stance on this issue has pushed away a LOT of players which is bad... even if some of them are kniving, greasy, evil wankers. there are very few new players coming to arctic mud. most of them are just masquerading unknowns.

Arctic's got too many problems to save it. Unless someone reworks a majority of the game from equipment timers/limits to rent, there'll be no reason for people to come play this over one of the larger MUDs out there.

All of us know that Arctic is unique. I have never found a mud anything like this one, and I play other muds regularly. No other mud I've played has had eq timers, they have always had nolimit on eq. But most of the also don't allow pk, and its real carebear style type shit. Arctic will forever be #1 mud out there to me, there just isn't another one like it.

Not done. We just did back to back 7 month deployments and we are going into the shipyards for almost 2 years, so I won't be at sea for that time. By the end of the yards I should be re-enlisting and going to shore rotation; i.e. no more extended absences.
