A Narrow Road
This narrow, dirt road winds its way through the great forest, curving
around large trees and rocks. You can hear the chattering of hundreds of
animals all around you, and a few of the trees seem to have large claw
marks. To the south, lies the northern gate of Solace, and to the north,
the road continues. Large bushes block your view to the east and west.

Is it even worth killing these guys? Killing chars with such shitty equipment is bad karma.
  3. rivengard · 7 Jul 2009
While I have to admit they were exceptionally skilled in these fights *cough*, Ben/Reed actually gloating about killing a true newbie and someone who just barely came back to the game and didn't know we were warring is pretty weak.
If this is the best you can do after getting totally worked the other day guys, it's pretty sad.

    I dont see any gloating.
  5. kayria · 8 Jul 2009
Ummm i would say posting a log on sufs is considered gloating.

Posting a log of their usual type of riskless random PK, with the title "Back Again! Hope you didnt miss us!"... is gloating.

Further, it is the reason why so many inexperienced newb zoners these days are getting frustrated with Arctic at an early stage in their careers, and also why the staff is trying to put a damper on the general PK environment.

Thanks "Ben and Reed" - or whatever the fuck your real name(s) is - for preying on the weak and ruining the fun of PK.

I came back for the first time since like 2005 or so, have amassed probably 10 days played between all of my characters so far, and the closest I've come to any PK action is having someone get charmed but keep spamming ice storm like a retard.

New players have absolutely nothing to fear; if they're just randomly clanning up without understanding what's going on in the game, that's their own fault and you can hardly blame someone for killing them.

"New players have absolutely nothing to fear; if they're just randomly clanning up without understanding what's going on in the game, that's their own fault and you can hardly blame someone for killing them."

That's just ignorant. This isn't like back when we had 200 people online on a average day. These days there are typically more clanned people (tagged or not) online than neutrals, so to make a statement like that is just dumb.

These days, if a newbie wants to do much of anything, they need to clan. They need the protection, and the general all around support, that a clan provides. Not to mention the regular grouping with people they can establish a friendship with. More often than not if you group with other "neutrals", they end up tagging with this or that clan at some point, so they still get drawn into the clan stuff one way or another.

    EDIT::

Plus, you are hardly a newbie if you had played this game in the past and are just coming back from a long break.

It does not surprise me that you do not condone such loose definations of newbies. I mean you have been playing here how long and are still woefully unlearned of this game! If I were you I wouldn't let such a proud title as newbie be thrown around willy nilly either.

Randomers like "ben and reed" are ruining the most important aspect of this game, pkilling. We all like to pkill and some of us random, but when taken too far the rules always change to adjust, just like with any government. These guys need to learn moderation. Its not like these guys just target a certain clan. They target just about anyone whos not on their side, which as it turns out is the minority of the mud. Clanned or unclanned they will kill you so for an inexperienced player the answer is clear, join a fuckin clan.
Ive often argued that randoming adds a certain flavor to this game, and makes boys in to men. I still believe this to be true but again it needs to happen in moderation. Last wipe, character after character they started a duo to pk with and tormented the mud. Now the pkill systems are being changed over and over, and it sucks. Clan warfare isnt even the same because of the adjustments being made. Bloody flags and gear? Give me a break. Now track/hunt and all this crap being added or changed to control guys like this. They are not bad guys(they like to think they're saints) but for the sake of everyone else, tone it down. This is a very small game and the actions of a few have a substantial impact on the rest of us.

hahaha gloating? lol. Just posted 1 log bud. And obviously core has some experienced players in it and we already killed the chieftain of the clan 3x times and didnt post that. If your clan is stupid enough to not post in the clan news that you were at war, all your clannies deserve to die. Oh and if you call risking hardbashes etc riskless, then your an idiot. What do you consider "risk?" rofl.

Another note, almost every battle we have fought against core has been 2 vs 4 in favor of core. So everyone just shut up! lol

    I do alright.

Heh. Little hard to convince anyone reed, about Cores superb experience when you say how you killed the CHIEFTAIN 3x. I suppose im not disagreeing, just sounds funny.
  15. jorake · 9 Jul 2009
They dont target everyone either. Im smart enough that if im on an unknown and i see them, i say "hey this is john, dont bash me!" And they dont agro MH guys either. I think you all are just jealous! These 2 guys continue to take on the mud, because pking/zoning are the aspects of the game. They prefer to pk rather then zone. And they NORMALLY dont attack nonclan-tagged people. Unless they know someone's unknown or multi or whatever. Lets face it. They took on bst/core/wild/otlw/kos/etc etc etc last wipe, and as far as im concerned. They won. They beat all those clans. And more often then not, they went at them 2vs 3 or vs 4 or vs 5 or just some insane odds. If you dont want to war them, dont travel with under 6 people, and you should be ok!
  16. Baelron · 10 Jul 2009
    shrug

I think they have every right to random as mh/wild/outlaw do to zone like its going out of style. We kill them 6x, get some trash eq back, they kill 1-2 of ours, and get said eq back. It's just another part of the game =p
