I don't get the title. This is Baus? He log in log out in same town or something?
  2. Feun · 24 Jun 2009
He means that Wahniya is supposed to be a multi of Baus. Not sure where they get their information from...
  3. Loretta · 24 Jun 2009
From our supersecret spie in wild clan.

shieldless bash or waste of health?!
  5. Keith · 24 Jun 2009
Can you outfit me with one of those supersecret spies please? I use JMC MUD Client so adjust your spy accordingly. I won't even shout annoyingly all the time, so you won't even know I'm around. Thanks.
  6. Loretta · 24 Jun 2009
If you dont like my shouts use #gag command or just stfu.
PS. Btw in this case our supersecret spie in wild clan was Baus himself. You can solve this riddle by yourself. I give you alot of clues already.

look, what results of this log rgb fighting wilds:

Message 4 (Tue Jun 23)! Chemosh -- Scripting/Logging/Abusing the WHO command
    ----------
It's come to my attention that recently this age old practice has been/is
making a resurgence. Let me be very clear and blunt about this:
using/spamming the who list, especially if it appears to be scripted, to
determine peoples multis is ILLEGAL, and as it's difficult to code against
it and annoying to police, if I, or any other staff members, even suspect
that you're doing it there will be no trial or discussion. You will be
deleted and, most likely, I will hand pick people from your clan to delete
    as well.

    This is your only warning.
    << end of message 4 >>
  8. mavlad · 24 Jun 2009
i bet every wild using his 32+ alt to whine about something that hurt wild clan again
  9. Leeroy Baggins · 24 Jun 2009
I don't believe this log is the cause of the post on the message board, but the one from Sanjuro where Loretta admitted to wholist logging in tells, and subtly even in the log description about "checking for 3 days". How come no one plays the game by the rules anymore?

And for what it's worth. If a wild with an imm had been doing this, they would prob have several characters deleted with no warning. We're just tired of not being able to play by the same rules because we're punished more harshly.
  10. Loretta · 24 Jun 2009
"checking for 3 days" was about pretty different thing. Also i dont need to 'log wholist' becouse those wild losers log/rent they known and they unknowns resently. Its nothing to log here - can just see when suspect hlight dissapears and tagged enemy appears.
  11. mavlad · 24 Jun 2009
ya you wilds disappointed that someone else is able to figure your alts by using brains and not an imm command.
every time someone hurt this clan 'wild' there is chemosh comes out all of suddenly with various reasons to exuse why wilds suck.
  12. jorake · 24 Jun 2009
You can check multi's by simply spamming who. And i type who probly 3-4x a tic just because im in a war and i want to know when enemies log etc. It is in no way shape or form ILLEGAL to type who. Its a game command, and if you dont want people typing it repeatedly then put a lag on it or something. Stop making excuses for your clan.

Further more. If this is the case that chemosh is using his imm powers to help the whiners in his clan then take your clan on a different port or delete your immortal and hop on the wagon with the rest of us. This is a pk mud. And immortals ARE NOT supposed to interfere with mortal affairs unless its absolutely required. Why even make a clan if you can't deal with pk? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

And if this isn't whats going on then disregard this post.
  13. Feun · 24 Jun 2009
If RGB was using legitimate ways to find our alts that would be fine. However at least once in a while we would expect to see a log of someone who wasn't an WILD alt being ganked, and yet they have unerring accuracy in finding our alts. Where are the false positives? Where are the accidents? It is completely clear that they are cheating to find alts who have never grouped with us, never played with us.
  14. jorake · 24 Jun 2009
Cheating how? Can you prove that they cheated? I mean c'mon. They are goblins after all. Sneaky little tricksters! And maybe you guys are just careless. They could set 1 of their lvl 30 guys in every major inn in the game and just wait to see who logs. Spying is part of clan warfare. But i'm sure if they did this it would become in some way illegal.
  15. Loretta · 25 Jun 2009
Innocents usually log they tagged knowns :). Ganked atleast 4 wrong suspects so far :).
  16. Leeroy Baggins · 25 Jun 2009
Chemosh doesn't play with Wild. No one in wild gives us any multies, and we're actually pretty bad about spotting them as about everyone here should know. Regardless, this topic is probably better suited for the actual forums, maybe someone with some power has an idea how to adjust it fairly.

As for this kill, I don't know any Wahniya, but at least Mumu got a new item to shout about for a little bit!
  17. Loretta · 25 Jun 2009
Already find a home for it.
  18. Monty · 25 Jun 2009
Dont log off of your Known/Log ur unknown so quickly. Epic whine tho. Oh. And dont wear anything worth getting killed for. Cloak of fog and shadows is cool thing.
  19. Viper · 25 Jun 2009
Wow lots of posts. I sense some overall tension!... Its quite clear to me there is going to be a splattering of rgb all of the streets/paths/roads in due time. The spy/cheating questionable finding alt tactics only last so long.

I am under the impression RGB is using these tactics because they know whats coming. You can only run and hide and decay so long :)

    G luck!
  20. keepitreal · 25 Jun 2009
Ok time to keep it real again. Obviously rgb using who list to determine alts. But really how is that considered wrong? They are using information available to them by typing who that is the same command everybody else is allowed to use. So enough talking and fight already. Btw the whole idea of unknowns are gay anyway. If you are scum with one char, you shouldn't be able to hide your multies etc anyway. Should just make a command to show all the chars from one IP address. That'd be fair for everybody and less homosexual unknown chars and it would force more battles.
  21. mavlad · 25 Jun 2009
no, it's bad but when one side can get access to this info but want other to have not it it's unbalances the game!
  22. drdactyl · 25 Jun 2009
    useyag cha!
  23. Feun · 25 Jun 2009
Mavlad, are you accusing WILD of being able to get RGB multies? I assure you, if we had some legal method to reliably determine who their multies were, we would be using it and we'd be ganking them as well. There is no reliable way to determine as many multies as the RGB have done without a script to process the information.

If one side is allowed scripts, then all sides should be.
  24. mavlad · 25 Jun 2009
Wtf about scripts? Do you saying Chemosh forcing people to play from tenlet is normal? He's definately backing anything that hurt particular clan WILD. Maybe he isn't biased and just listen to 1231232 imm alts you log to whine into imm channel after any pkill but the results the same. Whenever and whoever attacks clan WILD gets into problem with immortal staff.
I'd say if someone logging his immortal and whine about something that hurted his mortal and his clan should lose the imm immediatly b/c he trying to get the game advantage of it.
  25. Keith · 25 Jun 2009
To the people that think you can spam who list and pick up multis: Really? You can quickly read 60-80 names (since the random who list was added) and discern who logged off/on quickly enough to set someone as suspicious, as well as storing that information to correlate it later? I call BS. I spam who list all the time, but it would (and does) take a computer to determine relationships between highlighted/unhighlighted.

Goblins use a script. I assume they have all my multis, although I've never logged in the same town. Guess what, they likely have your multis too. Sorry! How do we know they have a script? They told us. Just like MAEL last wipe, people flaunt their cheating and then whine when they get punished. Hell, RGB whines BEFORE they got punished. People (ignorant people) throw out accusations about WILD because they think we have all the high immortals in our pocket. Don't you think that the WILD immortals are watched tighter than others? The funny thing is, MAEL/RGB whined enough that it's difficult for immortals to do anything to them unless they cheat against some non-WILD. Some people (mavlad) like to point out that we must have access to all multis, yet if we do, where's the massive unknown enemy death toll? Maybe, just maybe, it doesn't exist because we DO NOT have access to your multis. Give it a rest already.

Wholist scanners were known to be illegal, with the precedent being set vs. Finns many wipes ago. I look forward to the day that immortals quit worrying about cheater whining and just do something, even if it gets Loretta's panties in a wad. Guess what RGB, you won in that you cheated without getting punished. You still have the script's knowledge of our multis (as you would say, you have good statistic that we are wild). Instead of soaking your pillows about evil WILD imms, maybe you should rejoice at Chemosh and the rest of the staff's leniency. We certainly don't.
  26. Feun · 25 Jun 2009
If Chemosh was really backing WILD like you say, there would have been no warning on the board like he did, there'd be a lot of people named Mummu shouting about how unfair WILD is etc...

I'm tired of arguing with you Mavlad, it's pointless. You obviously think we cheat all the time. I've seen no evidence of it on our side. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say people are forced to use "telnet".

You aren't even part of this discussion Mavlad. You might be using a WHO script to determine multies, we don't really care. We KNOW RGB is using a script, they admitted to as much. Damage done now, no penalty applied to RGB, sucks to be us.
  27. Leeroy Baggins · 25 Jun 2009
    Quick question Mavlad.

Are you saying you know Wild get enemy unknowns because you are getting enemy unknowns from imms that have come out of your clan? I highly doubt this, but if you are so certain that every immortal cheats, perhaps you want to admit something?

This topic is worn out. Should whine it somewhere else.
  28. Corey · 25 Jun 2009
I find it stupid that people are being punished for being tech-savvy.
  29. ahrimen · 25 Jun 2009
The reason that I enjoy and have enjoyed Arctic for so many years is that it doesn't matter how fast your computer is or how fast your connection is, or if you know how to program scripts...it is a game based on in-game knowledge, leadership, strategy, and intelligence. When you take away the ability for people to play different characters (I mean in the sense of actual role playing a character) solely because of login times and statistical analysis of probabilities then you take away a huge aspect of this game. I play a character within a clan, yet I also like the ability to play a character outside of that clan which has no affiliations with the clan other then that I am the same player. There are some of us who still do this and to have them hunted for being affiliated with a clan only because the PLAYER is the same as the other character is ridiculous.

The solution to this problem really is simple, and it was simple years ago when this was first an issue, yet no one has the balls to implement it: take away the who list. Add a global group list if you are looking for a group, or your group is looking for members: "High Group Looking for members" "Mid level group looking for casters" "Low level thief looking for cleric" with a point of contact. Etc etc.
  30. Oldschoolplayer · 25 Jun 2009
I was in wild or whatever you wanted to call them for 2 wipes....people in the clan didn't bitch to immortal's. It was handled in the clan. Mavlad or anybody else that is bitching get over it.
I was Bsp before I was Wild and we said the same thing 10 years ago in Bsp....only Wild of yesterday had a different name today. We were like they must be cheating (talking about the shriner's of course) since all of them have immortals. So all I have to say to the mavlad's get over it.
  31. mavlad · 25 Jun 2009
it's understandable that you wilds trying to say all this to defense selves but facts are quite obvious - whenever someone hurt wild there appear chemoshes and game changes to cut it.
wild don't whine using imms alts into imm channel after every pk? laugh
  32. sezi · 25 Jun 2009
Feun and others stop talking bullshit, RGB not using WHO scripts.
  33. Ville · 25 Jun 2009
    Incredible.
  34. Chris C · 25 Jun 2009
I can check who list, copy/paste, if someone of interest logs off, I can check for someone new to appear etc. even without using a script, I think most unknowns are found by other people's carelessness

before the wholist wasn't even scrambled so you could see when ppl logged on all at once, or if people logged on recently etc. yet people didn't seem to whine this much and it was harder to "stay unknown"

personally I can't program worth a damn, but hey, some people can and more power to them

Why are you imputing to Mavlad things he did not say? the cheating accusations many keep talking about exist only in their delirious brain (guilty conscience speaking eh?).
He only pointed out at the Chemosh appearance right after the Wild unknown got killed. At this very site we can observe the deaths of Cruciall, Jun, Cynxia, Brumbas - and countless others in the earlier wipes - that did not have the similar effect whatsoever. Coincidence? the result of massive whining? rumours, speculations and innuendo?
  38. Feun · 25 Jun 2009
This is a stupid conversation. Clearly none of you is even reading what we are writing.
  39. Leeroy Baggins · 25 Jun 2009
Yes, in the past things were this way or that. In the past people in "warring" clans would go fight every day and then leave each other alone so they could re-xp and re-equip. Even grouping together. Today's playerbase are win at all costs players, so things are not on an even footing with "how it used to be".

A lot of people who play Arctic right now do not play for fun, they play to win. To them, winning IS the fun, so they are doing anything and everything to accomplish this. Including at times pushing the boundaries of the rules.

I'm not speaking directly about any group with these generalizations, more so about all groups. Regardless, when it becomes so you can't swap characters out after 20,30, 40 minutes (time differential is inconsequential because if you parse enough data you will find the info) then all you are doing is automating everything. I don't think some of the rulings about automation have been right, but in some instances having players with some discretion sure would go a long way.
