Sure.. pk IS fun.... when both sides are trying to pk. But as we've seen from the nakedpktrashclan - you guys don't actually try and win a pk fight, you just try and nuke/insta an equipped char you are fighting against and loot it.

I'm not trying to start a flame war, I'm just trying to make a point.

I run the freaking arctic mud newbie academy and I think that this game needs more randoming. I've yet to see one newbie in AMA leave because of being pked, and nowclan randomers have picked off more than a few. Very few people in this game manage to become highlighted by a major clan before they learn what to do in order to -not- become falsely highlighted. Unless you're actively highlighted/hunted by an RGB/Outlaw/BSP of the game, what can possibly be taking the fun out of the game for you? If you are in one of the major clans, why complain? You joined the clan for a reason.

If you were to ask me what takes the most fun out of Arctic, my answer would be whiners.

I was just trying to expand on Helati's statement. Probably didn't need to, as I suspect we all understand what he's talking about.

I doubt anyone left playing Arctic doesn't like PK. But if the "naked" sides want to call another sides wussies.... whatever.

i was hunted by shriners the second wipe i played, and they were way more active than NOW, and i died almost daily.
if you whine about being killed and quit or whatever, you shouldnt even play arctic!
either you try to be more careful and die less, or do something about it
(this isnt pointed at anyone, just for neutrals who might find themselves in this kind of situation}

Please get your facts straight, this is a false image of the playerbase you're creating here... About one third of the current players, maybe more, don't like pkill and would have nothing to do with it if it was possible.

Let me expand on that, Adepali.

About one third of the playerbase, maybe more (generally everyone, i'd assume), does not like pkill where they feel as if they have no way to win. I'm sure that there is some niche of players out there who really do feel bad about hurting another player, but generally it's about helplessness.

Standard generic 'Randomer attacks someone in AMA who has never been attacked log':

----- tells your clan, '**** just stabbed me and killed me. I can't believe that *% &^%$&%^ &^%&'

----- tells your clan, 'I can't believe that &#% &#^%&'

----- tells your clan, '^%$ &^#%'

... at this point you would think that the person really hates pk

...

You tell your clan, 'Want to form a little group up and hunt them?'

...

----- tells your clan, 'Please'

... Nobody in their right mind would respond 'No, I don't like to pk.'

The problem is people with zero odds to win being attacked by people with every card in the deck, repeatedly. It's not that they dislike pk, it's that pk makes them feel helpless in the game.

For the record, i do try to teach my newbies how to avoid it, rather than how to win it. But these are my thoughts nonetheless.

Of course, there are those people. But they could always make secret multies or join some of the big warring clans, they're always eager to get new fodder. However the vast majority of the players in several mid-large clans playing right now that I know of (KoS, Maza, Myth) don't like pkill at all, no matter the odds, because they prefer to zone and they find pkill a disturbance to zoning.
Anyway even if the only problem is the odds, this still leaves us with the fact that there are MANY people who don't play Arctic just for pkill, as it is suggested here.

Most people who dislike pk take this stance because they still enjoy the predictable aspects of the game... most notably zoning. Factors such as a small and stale playerbase, the '2 major clan' demension, and the mentality to pk only when odds favor you , all contribute to an atomsophere which tends to dislike pk. It's difficult to experience the full thrill of the mud unless you experience the adrenaline rush of pk. More pk, more fun!
