anyways not posting anymore to defend our highlights. They died for a proved reason. If you dont like it go to hell. Btw its a bit ironic to read all these complains from pple of the same clan that asked for peace bc "quitted garbage and applying for KoS" (Rest) or just plain backstabbers like Martel that gave their word. Also funny you guys still pk Twack and other innocent pple i dont know who they are. Good job that Twack guy is never on nowadays whoever it was.

I have been called a lot worse over the years than a "Backstabber." Just kill my character on the mud. Words are meaningless. And should really should stop defending the petty cries of "randoming"; history is created by those who are the most powerful. You don't need to explain your actions, least of all to your enemies.

I do apologize to Aldur whoever he might be, I remember leveling his characters up earlier in the wipe and he didn't seem too bad. Battles are just too hard to resist, especially if given the opportunity to lead.

This is what I tried to explain last night. For the record, I've had that stupid cube for about three months. I bought it off of a guy in Solace for 2000 coins. It was a pain to keep removing it and wielding it to get a staff that I could use. If you would have asked for it, I would have probably dropped it or given it to you.

Given that I'm a low level neutral, I was not very good a wielding it anyway. I tried to explained this the first time that you tried to attack me in a guild that I am not clanned and I have never been clanned. I tried to politely resolve this with you yesterday and tried to contact Elyana and Descartes. I still look forward to resolving this so that I can get back to xping on low level mobs...alone.

I'm not here to challenge or comment on BSP or any clan. I'm trying to open a dialogue to clear a mishighlight. I was unable to do so last night.

I don't even group to avoid issues related to being seen with someone that offends any clan. I would appreciate an opportunity to explain that I am a neutral, unclanned, inexperienced player that just wants to look around Arctic.

Aldur instructed me to contact Elyana regarding this matter. Elyana was deaf. Aldur then instructed me to contact Descartes. Descartes did not reply.

I would appreciate a chance to resolve a mishighlight.

Talking to Mavlad or Michiko is probably your best bet in getting peaced. They are usually the least involved with killing questionable highlights. If he's deaf on the mud, you can probably find him in quakenet irc if you look at all. But for crying out loud, don't use the 'I'm an innocent newbie' excuse. If someone gives me the innocent newbie excuse, i'll keep them highlighted. Don't tell me you are noone, tell me you are someone. If you are someone, then you can get a dialogue with one of the people in the clan and prevent stuff like this from happening in the future. If you are 'noone' then we have no way of keeping track of you.

thats pretty self explaining isn't it??? why would you not want to keep track of who might be an enemy. it's the main reason battles end up going the wrong way because someone/something unexpected showed up. everyone can use basic logic to see that knowing who your enemy is, is the only way to beat them....

However, We will kill anyone who has any affiliation with anyone who has attacked us. We don't kill people for having association with people who we have seen having association with people who have killed us though. Direct Association: Being seen in a zone, Logging on .1seconds after a known Evil Logs off, etc etc Will get You Highlighted.

The only purpose of what i was talking about before. Being 'someone' and not 'noone' is if we have a relationship with a person, not a character, then its alot easier to clear your name. We don't like to kill neutrals or people who are specifically trying to be neutral. (at least, i don't)

That's where you're getting owned, not because of the possibility that this one guy might help a group attack you in the future, when, even if you do attack the guy, and you are correct, it doesn't change anything (they'll just re-equip and attack openly). Or if you're wrong, you have the possiblity of 1) driving away yet another neutral, or b) causing this neutral to actually join the fight against you, because of that bad move.

I think all clans get a little highlight happy. I don't have any problom with clans hunting unkown multies, and I know accidents happen and sometimes neutrals get ripped. I'm fairly well known and even still I've ended up on highlight lists incorrectly from time to time. Fortunetly I'm lucky to know people in these clans that know I'm not xyz and fix the problom. These people often check on the highlight list and get mishilights removed. So not everyone is as bad as you think. In any big orginization, communication becomes harder between members and you just have to make the best of it. Honestly the best way I've seen to steer clear of the highlight is to make it know who you are and who your with. Get into xyz irc and use your char name as your irc nick, maybe followed with whatever you call yourself. Become a name, not a character. People know who Eric is and his affiliations, people know who Bobo is and his affiliations, people know who Mitch is and his affiliations. Char xyz is alot rougher to figure out who they are. If your truly neutral, then theres no real reason to hide your multies. If your worried about clan xyz pking you that bad because you play char xyz and don't want them hunting your other whatever, you are most likely affiliated somehow. My enamies friend is my enamy kinda thing because thats often true.

The fact BSD can be repeatedly beat down by Outlaw and still be alive and kicking leads me to believe that some occasional person helping in a battle, probably isn't going to do BSD in.

Therefore, it isn't Necesary. Sure, it helps your cause, but you don't NEED to do it, to ensure the survival of the clan.

Only reason you think you need to do it, is because of this crummy win-at-all-costs mentality.

Since you don't seem to understand this concept. This means: We kill people who help the people who kill us.

Well, I logged in yesterday to find an inn sitter and a basher downstairs. You can guess how the rest of it went.

I can't get anyone to respond and I don't have a clan to help me get out of the inn, so I guess that means that I'm screwed for not being someone.

I'm going through my old logs to find the person that admitted to being Ruin last wipe. I doubt that this will clear my name, but I really don't see another option.

sorry rurh, we don't highlight for namestealing, or if we do it isn't lasting. this highlight was established since the days before danes split off from clan, it is very old, just got dusted off and used cause ruin got spotted online.

Mike R., thank you for finally explaining why Ruin is highlighted. It is a complete relief to find out that I am not responsible for getting highlighted. For the record, I have only played Arctic since November, 2004. I created Ruin in the beginning of this year and I have only made it to level 17 with him. Of course, that progress has been diminished this week thanks to the tireless efforts of BSP.

I am not trying to prove my innocence anymore. Iâm happy to know that I did not make a newbie mistake that caused my character to be hunted (other than picking a hot name). Iâm simply the unlucky guy that is worse for it. I am also relieved to see that BSP had a reason, albeit inaccurate reason for hunting the current Ruin. I was beginning to that yâall spun a wheel or put names on a dartboard and Ruin popped up. Given the relative power of a large clan v. a newbie neutral, thereâs not a lot I could do about it.

Iâm weary and I cannot imagine a way to provide proof of something that I can only assume occurred before I even heard of MUDs. To tell you the truth, I donât even know who Danes are/were.

Just for complete disclosure, Ruin has slightly more than 100 hp and has yet to cast a spell in any PK situation. I found it too difficult to xp him alone and I donât have the benefit of a clan to bulldoze zones. I took him to the Silvanesti forestâ¦I turned out slightly worse than my dialogue with BSP.

Since I am giving up trying to reason with you for Ruinâs survival, I would also like to thank the other posters for their sympathy and their candor about being someone and for their denials about my association with another clan. Trust me, you wouldnât want me in your clan. I can barely take out a gully dwarf. Maybe in a couple of wipes, I will clan, but Iâm really not interested in doing so right now. This has been taxing trying to understand how a neutral was a threat.

Because I am learning the game and Ruin is not of a level that he is worth salvaging after the torrent of deaths this week, you wonât see him around much. I would like to thank you for finally giving me enough information to understand that âIâ am not at fault for getting highlighted. âRuinââa past iteration of âRuinâ that isâis allegedly at fault for something.

you can be peaced, talk to me on game as Epso/Ghim/Horiz and give your real name etc. if you are ever caught doing something 'evil' in the rest of your existance, if there is a bsp or anyone who even used to play for bsp around, you will die as long as you play.
