I'm so conflicted. On the one hand, it's pleasing to see really annoying people get their spirits crushed, but on the other hand I love seeing them die, and if they quit that won't happen anymore. Hopefully Quv just makes some unknowns and secretly recreates Lonesome like he always does after quitting.

I'm just sad that these things happen on a online game which is (at least partly) supposed to be about having fun. Despite all the 'hurray they left' posts, I have to say that Derek was the first person I ran into when I came to this mud 3 years ago. For abt 2 months he showed me the game, taught me what to do and not do and got me completely hooked. I am sure he has helped a lot of other newbies over the past 3 years as well. So, although he has definitely done some scummy things in the past and apparently most people seem to be happy he left, I am glad he was around when I came to this place and thank him for it.

I'm somewhat of an older player and haven't played in a while, so I don't know Derek that well. However, from what I can see, he is clearly not fit to run a clan. Though being able to lead zones helps, the most important thing to leading a clan is being able to garner respect inside and outside your clan, in addition to having a good/stable head on your shoulders that prevents you from making rash decisions.

Greer on the other hand seems to have routinely pissed people off with his self-righteous arrogant conceit, and so made far more enemies than he should on the mud. Arctic echoes real life in some ways...you cannot afford to hold to specific principles all the time unless you're the top dog.

Me and Obel offered to help him vs Corey. He told us to join the other side because anyone who likes pk is evil. So we made an irc chat room, rallied some people, and look what happens...Then instead of rebuilding and learning from his mistakes, he deletes because two guys got multi-killed. Obviously our intention was only to get the guys out were not killed yet out, but when people as passing eq, and me bein on telnet, I'm not going to scroll back to see which people being bounced are naked and which aren't.

Incidentally, half this group was under 25. Obel is lvl 24 and just started playing arctic last week. :P

This will be my last post ever.

For those of you who don't know me I can often come acrossed as arrogant and cocky, I realize this, however those who do know me realize that there is a lot more to me than that. You can talk and say I pissed everyone off all you want, but nothing I did was unjust.

Losing didn't bother me or any of us. Sure dying sucks. We are the smallest clan on the mud and yet nearly every other clan tries to fuck us over. You try to justify this by the above but it's just a crap excuse. Corey is just a dick 10/10 times, Renshai should name themselves KoT2 with all of the members and people they group with, and Garbage jumps us. All of these times the clans involved never declared war. Last night was fun to fight. We thought we were fighting like 7 on 7 against 1 healer. What we walked into was very different. I mean hell I never thought to check the who list for Garbage... Supposedly it was to back up Raud, Raud being the guy who agroed us not vice versa, Raud being the guy who backed up Coops (coreyfoddertrash). Garbage never once asked us to return his gear or claimed him as their own. This just adds onto the list of Coreyfodder. Our little clan was backstabbed and fucked so many times that you guys don't even realize, yet we survived. We had the foundation a clan should have - friendship and loyalty.

To top everything off they were able to multi-kill 2 of our members by booting them from the inn since Fira ripped. Ackar did the same thing 2-3 weeks ago with the same people and he was punished. Don't try to tell me that Codam (Corey and Adam - since they are butt buddies) didn't know better. It was abuse, it was breaking the rules, and it was not enforced. I told everyone in the inn that if they were not punished I would delete, and I did. Sancho finished everything off by the standard "this is the last time, NEXT TIME blah blah will be harsh blah blah" How many times are you guys going to post that after a rule infringement before you actually enforce it?

Leading Renshai I had to establish some relationships with some BSP I really disliked to prevent them from assisting RoT in one of our first successful wars. Just swallow the pride and eventually you won't need to do it anymore. Even now Renshai is much more powerful than they were back then, and aren't nearly considered as much of a joke clan. Before that, Tim (player of Xellos among others) did the EXACT same thing as happened yesterday. Otherwise you get random people who just want to have some fun with PK without taking the plunge to wild or bsp, and that ends up owning you.

As a side note, I've seen quite a bit of opinion from good guys who seem to think you're a bit of a cock because of how they help you out and you then act like a jerk...

Every time I grouped with Greer I was pissed off by his overbearing personality, and his expectations of other people to read his mind. He wouldn't say "ok, next time we do sanction smith, heal every round" when tank woudl die. Obviously that a clan taking him in, grouping him, and treating him better than most new clannies justifies wholly betraying said clan to their enemies. Whatever you may think about Derek, his reputation and his place on this mud were forever stained by his actions. That depends on how many people quit because of the serial killing.

In one way or another, you are taking life from that person. That person who dedicated time into producing a character. Whether low or not, it's still time. And some asses make it a point to ruin other people's work.
It's one thing if you do something to provoke the situation, it's another thing when you're someone's 5 second snack, at the cost of a hundred fold or more, of our effort.

This isn't a simple deathmatch, with little loss. One has to be very morally deficient to see nothing wrong with robbing others of their effort, for no real reason.

I remember playing my basher, our group(I think wakki was leading, following highlights was always the best way to gather intel. :P) went to greenen, and ran into Greer's little bunch. Being the person Greer was, he began to demand we leave, and acting like a general ass. I really would've been all for killing him and anyone who assisted him on the spot, but we were outnumbered and half our groupw as sub titled.

First impressions are important, and Derek will always be that asshole who demanded we leave his zone that he and his group were doing, as if we were going to steal it from him.

Rurh: You need to shut the hell up, and leave. You are nothing but a moronic hypocrite. Argue all you want, but for all your preaching for a 'better MUD', you worked closely with someone who was a major asshole. Also, while you clearly refuse to see pk as being different tan RL murder, treasons is far worse than even my charm-pk spree the last wipe charm was guild. I'll sya it again, you're a hypocrite, you bitch about wanting a better mud, and worked with someone who was everything you thought to be wrong. Go away.

Moe's description was fun. Non-newbies would just flip me off and move on. Newbies would be like 'oh crap!', and I'd let them know it was a joke.

Letting someone know I don't appreciate them looking at me, is a lot different than running around slaughtering lowbies. Even if I come up with a pseudo-excuse like, they're opt anon, or something.

Actually Rurh, it wasn't my decay, it was Wakki who had something decay i believe. He wnted to see who and where the group was, and what they planned to do, however when you guys ran into us in the blacken area, Greer didn' say hi, or ask what we were up to, he acted like the ass he is.

Ayou're right, there's a difference between one -mistake- and repeatedly being a scummy asshole, and like I said before, you were working with the latter. I don't give a flying fuck what you and your warped view of the world saw. Greer's traitorous past aside, he always acted like a dick. Christ, I was shocked to find locki had joined us, altho from the way Greer treated him for not being some bitch that reports in constantly.

I pity some of the empire members, but Greer mass deleting and leaving is a fitting end. Why don't you take your firend, who isn't tht which you hate by your standards, but only according to your warped views, and leave?

If you want to talk about Derek being an unprovoked jerk, then just think back to that time pythea was holding shayds for hours to get a book. She finally bugs me enough to get a shabby group to go do it. As she is waiting for me to run in Greer and co. come in and steal zone while she is still waiting at entrance saying oh we'll leave if your group comes. I come with the group run in the zone and ask them to leave and they argue. I move in regardless because I don't put up with zone stealing even when outnumbered/leveled. So we move a room near that special mob who loads something mages like and what happens? Imperial runs in and pk's me. Guess the decent guys did quit.

If they ever fix the pk mechanics of this game and bring it back to a point where solo pk is possible. I will come back but until then that whole aspect being ruined has ruined the game for me. You can see Fira solo pking with charmed monsters. But since corey and adam have been doing that every decent charmable monster they found to pk with has been either made no charm or nerf. UNnless you plan to pk some level >20 caster with a level 25+ caster you really have no chance of landing a solo kill unless maybe you run preps for hours. You guys can say oh Aristox has done so many good things to the mud. Sure he has done some good things but he still has made it some faggot ass rurh mud for care bears and lollipops. Really the only entertainment I get left from it is taunting you people from here.

Locki was not compatible with us. Our playing times were not the same at all. And even after repeatedly told not to zone with garbage, he did anyway. It actually had little to do with 'reporting in'.
Killing for ninjalooking is not hypocritical. It is an aggresive action meant to twart you in some way. Hostile actions require hostile responses. That is no where the same as running around slaughterign people for fun.

Pythea incident was it's own headcase. After sitting there for hours, we come in with the group. We ask if she has a group coming in. She said yes. So we sit around and sit around, waiting for this mythical group. We give her 20 minutes to get them there, and they still don't show up. So we figure she's bullshitting us, and move on.
Before elder, the group finally DOES show up. But of course, parn being the COMPLETE ASS that he is, starts spouting off shit liie "You will leave NOW" "LEAVE", before we even get 2 lines in, even though we had been completely polite with parn the entire time.
We stood there and glared at each other, and decided to relinquish the zone, because that's what we agreed to. Before we got out of zone, we unanimously decided, that due to Parn's complete jackassery, to kill him. We did.
We then helped pythea load the book, although unsuccessfully. Shit went down and we massripped, and gave up.

Well, regardless of what your 'friend' said, Rurh, the only person who said anything about fighting you guys was wakki, and that was because he wanted his decay, the rest of us didn't feel like it, and Derek once more is full of shit, because when we ran into you guys, we ended up recalling and leaving you guys the zone without moving from the room.

Also, the reason I respond is, while I really don't care about an ingorant hypocrite like you, I do care about others being told lies, which is all that ever seemed to spew from derek's mouth. Besides, why would you need to ask Derek about the incident when you said eariler that you were in the group? Rurh the only decent guys I ever have played with are the ones who didn't care about the game, they just played to have fun Ie. Corey and Adam or even someone like Billy I think his name was. They didn't turn it into a huge political statement, they explored died got pk'd and never complained, never caring about items or xp. You on the other hand have been an annoying jerk for the last year at least. You started off pretty laid back but then you turned into a flat out jerk.
